Open House and Registration is the perfect opportunity to say hello to old friends and meet new families to Harborlight. As part of registration, please submit any outstanding paper work to the front office. Teachers are in their classrooms to greet students and their families, answer any questions, and provide a smooth beginning to the academic year.

In celebration of Grandparents' Day, join us at our neighbor's facility - Essex Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center - for the Forget-Me-Not Faire. This cross-generational celebration welcomes infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and grandparents for an interactive morning of games, food and activities sponsored by Harborlight Montessori School and Essex Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Balloon creations by Balloonacy, the Open Door Good Food Farm, green gear from Grunchy Granola Baby, Mary Kay cosmetic makeovers for seniors, special child I.D. by New York Life, guest storyteller - "The Storyweaver" - Nicolette Seavey, and much more. Harborlight Parent Association (HPA) Meeting

The HPA is an organization of parents and caregivers whose purpose is to support the School through volunteerism, fundraising, and community building. The HPA's mission is to create a venue by which all parents can actively participate in the School; to foster a spirit of involvement; and to sponsor special events for both children and families. The HPA strives to enhance parent-to-parent and school-to-parent communications and supports adjunct curriculum opportunities for the students. Come join the fun!

Columbus Day - School Closed – No Childcare
A family friendly event sponsored by the HPA, the Fall Family Festival is an October highlight at Harborlight. Festivities include a chili cook-off, pumpkin carving contest, costume parade,donut diving, music plus food, fun and activities for the whole family. Prizes are awarded for the best chili, pumpkin carving, and Halloween costumes. Rain Date: Sunday, October 24th from 2 - 5 pm.
Grandparents and Special Friends of Early Childhood, Lower and Upper Elementary, and Middle School students are invited to visit Harborlight and share a snack, a special presentation, and to watch the children work.

All grandparents and special guests are cordially invited to attend a reception in their honor in the Library following their visit in the classroom, hosted by the Head of School.
Halloween usually involves a celebration in the classrooms the week of Halloween. Scary and distoring masks are avoided to help dispel fears in young chidren, therefore young children do not wear costumes from home. Elementary students bring costumes to wear when they parade over to visit our neighbors at Essex Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Harborlight is proud to participate in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF.
Please join us in the Library/Media Room as we discuss future planning – fun winter activities for the whole family, as well as Game Night, the Annual Auction, and Destination ImagiNation. All of these events and programs depend on you – Harborlight parents. Come help plan and promote that which builds community, friendships and lasting memories. The road to graduation - the route to success. All are invited to a discussion on Harborlight's Middle School. Meet the faculty, hear an overview of expectations, follow a student in a typical middle school day, learn the truth about homework, and receive guidelines for core and adjunct curriculum.
This is a time when we all share in the creating of a traditional feast. Each class works on a particular aspect of the feast and then joins together to share, celebrate and give thanks. The children also collect food for the Beverly Boot Straps Food Pantry and the Salvation Army.
